WebUpp delivered a fully managed website design and hosting service for VirtualCRO, a consultancy that helps SaaS startups scale using a proprietary Scale-up Framework created by founder Ian Pollard.
The project required a polished, credible online presence that clearly communicates the VirtualCRO story through its four pillars – Who We Are, What We Do, How We Do It and What You Get – while remaining faithful to the brand identity already established by the company.
We supported the full design, build, content structure, mobile optimisation and ongoing updates, ensuring VirtualCRO launched with a site that feels modern, confident and investment-ready.
The Brief:
VirtualCRO is a specialist advisory service for SaaS startups seeking to move confidently from early traction to scale-up. The company needed a website that would:
- Present a credible and professional brand suitable for founders, investors and early-stage leadership teams.
- Introduce the unique Scale-up Framework, a structured approach describing the milestones, methods and accelerators that guide startups through growth stages.
- Tell a clear narrative across the sections Who We Are, What We Do, How We Do It and What You Get.
- Support a strong visual identity, including colours, iconography, and the distinctive circular framework illustration.
- Provide a simple, clean user experience and a consistent, modern design appropriate for a consultancy aimed at high-potential SaaS companies.
VirtualCRO had no prior website, so this project represented the first full digital expression of the brand.
The Solution:
WebUpp designed and built a bespoke site aligned with the VirtualCRO brand guidelines, ensuring the layout, typography and colour palette matched the established identity.
The website introduces VirtualCRO’s offer with authority, clarity and simplicity, guiding users through each stage of the narrative.
Brand-Aligned Design and Storytelling
We created a visual hierarchy that supports the storytelling structure:
- Who We Are – establishes credentials and the experience behind VirtualCRO.
- What We Do – introduces the Scale-up Framework, including its four stages and the role of methods, standards and tools.
- How We Do It – explains the approach, including the core amplifiers of talent & timing and radical candour.
- What You Get – summarises the practical outcomes for SaaS founders, from GTM readiness to accelerated revenue growth.
Each section was designed to feel purposeful, with clear typography, strong spacing, and visual cues that help users move naturally through the content.
Scale-up Framework Integration
A central requirement was to express the Scale-up Framework as a visually recognisable component of the brand.
We:
- Incorporated the circular framework graphic from the brand library.
- Added supporting iconography such as Go-to-Market Fluency, Engagement Flywheel, and Scale-up Readiness.
- Created structured text blocks that describe the stages, milestones and accelerators in a way that is both accessible and authoritative.
This represented the complex methodology into a clear and compelling digital asset.
Responsive and Mobile-Optimised Build
